The S&R Group recently made connections with potential new team members during a job fair aimed at helping personal support worker (PSW) program students and graduates find employment.
Organizers say the job fair held at Saint Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres’ Kitchener campus attracted 123 people looking for career opportunities.
Representing the S&R Group at the event were Mahyar Garmsiri, the S&R Group’s HR talent acquisition specialist, and two HR team members from S&R Group long-term care communities.
Karen Correia from Lanark Heights and Sravani Kota from St. Andrew’s Terrace joined Mahyar at the S&R booth, where they met with job seekers, talked about opportunities at the S&R Group and accepted resumes.
Mahyar says this was the first time the S&R team had participated in a job fair hosted by Saint Louis Adult Learning and Continuing Education Centres.
“It was our first connection with Saint Louis, and we were blown away by how welcoming the staff were and how eager the students were to meet us,” he tells S&R Today.
Mahyar adds that attending the event was successful at strengthening relations for S&R, both externally and internally.
“It was a really productive day and a great chance for Karen, Sravani and I to get together as well and grow the relationship between the clinical resource managers of Lanark Heights and St. Andrew’s Terrace,” he says.
